Cave Kit
I have a new aquarium got it for Christmas. its a ten gallon. Need to know facts so i can keep it clean, etc.?
Like I said its a ten gallon, i got a heater in it and a filter, its the one that came with the Starter Kit for it. I got 2 fish ( a blind cave fish and a black skirt tetra) along with a snail (which i heard is good for keep tanks clean) how often is good to clean the tank, etc… the tank is constant to like 75degrees…
Always monitor the water temperature; 75 degrees is close to optimal for those fish.
Never change all of the water; empty and refill about 2/3 of the tank, after vaccuuming up the silt from the rocks, once a month, if needed.
Check your filter, and change the carbon every few weeks, or when needed.
The snails are asexual, which means you will have a tank full of snails at some point. When the snails die, they leave a residue in the shells that are unhealthy for fish. If you keep the snails, you may have to fish some out evry once in a while.
Lastly, you might want to get more tetras, as they are a community fish.
